Localwire is a free local news digest service. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect your email address and the location(s) you choose. We also store your digest frequency preference and a confirmation token to verify your email.
Why we collect it
Solely to send you local news digests for your chosen location(s) and to manage your subscription. That’s it.
What we don't do
We don’t sell, share, or rent your data to anyone. We don’t run ads that track you. We don’t build profiles about you beyond what’s needed to deliver your digest.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of third-party services to run Localwire:
- Supabase (database hosting) — stores your subscription data
- Resend (email delivery) — sends your digest emails
- Cloudflare (DNS and security) — routes traffic to our site
These providers process your data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your data entirely
- Unsubscribe at any time
Every digest email contains an unsubscribe link. To request deletion of all your data, email [email protected].
Cookies
We don’t use tracking cookies or analytics. The site may set essential cookies required for basic functionality.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we remove your data within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we’ll note the updated date at the top of this page.
